Of Nigeria Asthmatics Patients Can’t Afford To Buy Inhaler
Approximately 13 Million Asthmatics In Nigeria
Nigeria is among the highest ranking African countries in terms of the prevalence of asthma. However, more than half of asthma patients in Nigeria do not have access to the appropriate asthma care and knowledge. More recently, series of hyper-inflation has skyrocketed the price of inhaler in Nigeria. This makes millions of student of low income and earner unable to procure inhalers. The Attack Against Asthma initiative has been addressing the problem by providing inhalers free of charge for students across Universities since 2023. The initiative is one of its kind in the country, founded and scaled by Temitope Enoch Omosebi
Our Goals
Provide healthcare materials for asthmatic student and socioeconomic marginalized groups of Nigeria to promote good health among the patients and reduce the risk of asthma-related premature mortality and asthma comorbidities.
The initiative is motivated by Sustainable Development Goal 3. Target 4: reduce premature mortality from noncommunicable disease through prevention and treatment
Obejective 1
To provide free asthma medications for students across tertiary institutions in Nigeria
Objective 2
To proffer free asthma medications socioeconomically marginalized groups, communities and individuals in Nigeria
Objective 3
TO improve access to healthcare among socioeconomically disadvantaged through awareness, free medications and health promotion activiites

Last year on 22 September 2023, the first campaign for #AttackAgainstAsthma was conducted by Temitope Omosebi and his team in the University of Ibadan by donating a total of 40 inhalers for free to the students. A more detailed account of this event can be found in here.
